THE POWER OF MAKEUP || PINAYAVENTURES

Image
There are a lot of videos and pictures circulating the internet , by now I'm sure you know the power of makeup! Don't get me wrong, I am a pro all natural beauty or the "pulbo and liptint girl" look but not everyone is gifted with beautiful skin that does not need makeup especially when you are suffering from "PCOS" Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I had a lot of pimples in 2016, which were visible without makeup(Disclosure: I know it's not good to apply make up everyday, especially the acbe affected spots) April 2016 was the start of my amenorrhea. We were trying to have a second child and so we thought it was good news. Before, I've had instances of the same situation for 2-3 months the most but this one was different. My amenorrhea lasted till January of 2017. After consultation with my OB I was advised to take contraceptive pills to regulate my period. During the 9 months that I did not have my monthly period, breakouts, acne and weight g

WHEN KILAY IS LIFE || PINAYAVENTURES

My eyebrows"kilay" journey is not as perfect as the beauty gurus that you may look up to but it's definitely worth sharing especially for those who would like to improve their "kilay" game. Year 2008 I know most of you would think I should have already at least learned to do my make-up since I am graduating college. But during this year I know nothing about make-up or eyebrows. For me , during this time "Johnson's" powder and lipstick is all I need to look presentable. I have not yet discovered youtube and the beauty gurus to teach me the how to's of make-up. 2010 Fast forward 2010 I went to Manila to work and so my eyebrows are usually groomed at a salon. The weird thing about my eyebrows is that the natural growth and shape does not have the usual arch plus the fact that I also did not know that filling your brows would make a difference. 2012  2012, I've learned a thing or two about make-up but was still not

ZAMBOANGA CITY NIGHT LIFE || PINAYAVENTURES TRAVEL

Image
Comedy bars, bands, clubbing, drinks and party! Some of the things I seldom do... but since I was travelling alone(without my daughter and hubby) last March to Zamboanga I decided to try new things... GO TO A COMEDY BAR! I don't remember going to a comedy bar ever! Maybe if I did , we just dropped by and did not stay for the actual show. So when I came across 2 results for this search in Zamboanga, i knew I had to visit. The first visit was at LAFTRIP ZAMBOANGA, they are located at Governor Camins Avenue Canelar Airport near Marcian Hotel. It was a weekend and so when we arrived after dinner it was a full house. Performances will let you laugh till you drop. Expect the unexpected when you visit as you may be picked in some of their games. Their performances are based on a flow but the punchlines are impromptu, the crowd are mostly millennials. If you are the type who gets angry easily, this is not the place for you. This compares to actual jokes

PANAY KAIN TULOG ATBP COMPLEX: A FOODIES PARADISE || PINAYAVENTURES FOODTRIP

Image
What do you dream of doing on a weekend after a stressful week at work? KAIN? (eat?) TULOG? (sleep?) Why not both? What if I told you can do all this in one location? Yes! I found the perfect foodie paradise to spend the weekend in QUEZON CITY. The name itself says it all. I was looking for the place BGC HOSTEL Q.C in google and ended up seeing results saying PANAY KAIN TULOG , they are the same location I am going to spend a stress free weekend at. BGC HOSTEL in QC is famously known as PANAY KAIN TULOG because 1st they are located in 23 PANAY AVE. Quezon City and simply because that is what you will basically do in the area.  After my visit at BGC HOSTEL MAKATI sometime in February.  Read my blog about it: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1427362624000868&id=1111195248950942 I was surprised to know that it also has 2 other branches in Quezon City and Manila. So i decided to have the staycation in either branch on my birthday as we will

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION IDEAS ON A BUDGET || PINAYAVENTURES TIPID TIPS

Image
April is the month of birthdays(atleast for our family), that's because all 3 of us(me, my hubby and daughter) was born in April. I know it can be overwhelming and a little heavy on the budget as it's back-to-back-to-back celebration but here's a few birthday celebration ideas that you can try without needing to break the bank.  5. SIMPLE MEAL /DIY PARTY WITH FAMILY & RELATIVES AT HOME This birthday idea is not only practical but also sweet. Usually my mom, titas, uncles and cousins in the province will cook and we will have Lunch or Dinner together in our compound. Since we are a big family(including relatives - 20-30 persons) , this simple birthday celebration turns out to be a mini reunion as we get to spend some quality time together.  Now that I am in Manila, the simple meal is usually prepared by my husband and shared by our little family of 3.  Same thing goes when it's my husband and daughter's birthday(they have the
