TOPSIDE || MAKING A SEAMAN'S DREAM HAPPEN
Whenever a seaman comes home they often spend time with their families and friends. They would often eat out and enjoy the days that they have in land before going back and sailing away fron home. What would a seaman's dream be that TOPSIDE can offer?
Families and friends of seaman would often wonder how it is being one and would dream of going to the ship and experiencing the life first hand and I'm sure it is also a seaman's dream to be able to bring their families with them on board but most of the time only a limited number of family members would be allowed to visit. Now TOPSIDE will make that dream happen.
Being a part of a family of seafarers from my uncles, cousins to my brother I was thrilled to visit the place and even bring my seafarer relatives when they get home.
Located at F.Jochson St Sampaloc Manila, a nautical-inspired restaurant where they serve a wide variety of great tasting buffalo wings that will satisfy each and every family members tastebud.
HOW TO GET THERE
from any MRT station:
Ride to CUBAO station then tranfer to LRT 2 and head to LEGARDA STATION. From Legarda Station you can ride a pedicab to TOPSIDE or walk(use google maps, there's an offline version as well) your landmark would be NU(NATIONAL UNIVERSITY)

THE MENU
They have 5 flavors for their chicken wings and despite the price they order their chicken from MAGNOLIA so you are certain about the quality.
1. Garlic Parmesan
2. Sweet Chili
3. Buffalo Wings
4. Spicy Garlic
5. Chicken Barbeque
For those who love spicy you can still have them adjust the level according to your liking.
They also offer fries, nachos and a wide variety of drinks such as frappé, rootbeer, iced tea, coffee and juices.
I personally tried their bestsellers first and it did not disappoint. The parmesan Chicken was just exactly how I would like it to be and the good thing about their meals is that the rice flavor is the saame sa the flavor of the chicken.
The experience is made more realistic as that of a ship setting as you will be eating using your hands Disposable gloves are given to each and every diner.
At first I thought that it was the bottle that's causing the Tropical juice to appear to have three layers of colors but i got that all wrong. Another unique offer that Topside has is this juice that has 3 layers of flavors best enjoyed by drinking one layer at a time.
They even have a beer float(looks like beer but totally alcohol free) as they mostly cater to students.
Topside offers a wide variety of beverages such as:
1. Tropical drink
2. Beer "tea-based"
3. Iced coffee
4. Blended Chocolate
5. A&W Rootbeer Float
6. Bottled Rootbeer
7. Butterscitch
A complete meal wil only cost you 109 pesos.
Bring your seafarer friends and family as
upon entering the restaurant the seaman/seafearer would feel at home and would be able to even role play and show their life to their families as the enture restaurant is like an entire ship. The kids and even kids at heart can take pictures as every corner is instagrammable showing the life of a seafearer. They can even lend you their hats for that picture perfect moment. Dine and have fun with family and friends at very affordable prices. Their food is as good as their place and you can bring everyone as the prices of their food are all less than 100 pesos.

The travel squad decided to go on a food trip before my flight the next day. We decided to visit Topside F Jhocson.
