10 reasons why I LOVE ZAMBOANGA, and only 1 reason why not- BLACKOUT

Image
There's a lot of reason why I love Zamboanga City and only 1 reason why i do not- BLACKOUT. When will it end or will it ever end? As a blogger, I rely on electricty and my life would not be normal without it. When I tell people or clients we do not have electricty they would not understand it as I should still meet my deliverables. Fees, penalties and sanctions are just some of the many consequences of this crisis, The presence of electricity in a community signifies progress. Ironically, power outages have become common in Zamboanga City. The absence of electricity causes disruption in our daily activities and affects the city’s economy.  Without electric lights, it would be difficult for me to produce quality contents. While power generators augment for the lack of electricity, especially in business and tourist establishments, they can only do so much. By the way, not everyone can afford a power generator. I can't afford one myself. With the intense summer heat

Is ZAMBOANGA CITY blogger friendly?

Image
Last year, while I was pregnant I stayed in Zamboanga City for over 5 months and I have come to realize that although Zamboanga is trying to cope with other cities there are still limitations to what we can offer. And what is the reason of that limitation? BLACKOUT! A lot of online job opportunities are now present for stay at home moms and while I was there I thought of applying for some to past time and also earn extra for the growing needs of my family and I was even considering to do it fulltime and not return to Manila anymore, after all according to the popular song "NO TE VAYAS DE ZAMBOANGA" right? But a threat to that dream is very apparent as the days pass by. Blackout was real and just like everyone else in Zamboanga, I am experiencing it first hand. So the question is, Mi Ciudad de Zamboanga are you a blogger friendly city? Life isn’t normal without electricity. Whether for home, school, hospital, commercial, or industrial purposes, electricity

ZAMBOANGA: CITY OF FLOWERS, ASIA'S LATIN CITY OR BLACKOUT CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES?

Image
April 2019, we have experienced a crisis first hand that our fellow Zamboanguenos are facing every day-BLACKOUT! I have been coming back and forth whenever I have the time to “mi ciudad de Zamboanga” and every day is a happy day except when there is prolonged blackout plus water shortages. My City is known for a number of things, white sand, instagram worthy beaches, religious and hospitable people, great food, rich Culture but now it is getting popular due to blackouts and is being dubbed as the blackout capital of the Philippines as posted on social media. As a mom of two, my primary concern is how my children will be able to sleep as even if this is a province electricity is vital as we need it to be able to live comfortably. During the day it is somehow tolerable as we would usually go to KCC mall and stroll instead but at night the dilemna of wanting to just simply book a hotel just to be able to sleep comfortably is our only solution. But what if thi
