RESTORAN GARUDA || A taste of Indonesia
I've been dreaming of flying to Bali Indonesia but since it's a "no international travel" for me till next year then having a taste of Indonesia is the closest I could experience to BALI. Good thing GARUDA PHILIPPINES is just nearby. Situated in 166 Salcedo St. Makati this Halal Indonesian Restaurant serves authentic Indonesian dishes prepared by Indonesian chefs and ingredients all the way from the same country. How authentic can you get, right?
I've tried Indonesian cuisine in my hometown Zamboanga City as well as when I travelled to Malaysia and so I knew that this would be a flavorful meal.
MENU
Garuda indeed brought Indonesian flavour to Metro Manila. Families, friends and even millenials will surely enjoy the burst of flavor and how the owners are promoting Indonesian cuisine to Filipinos. When you hear the word Indonesia you will imagine Bali and it's rich culture but having visited Garuda when I hear Indonesia I would think of how flavourful their dishes are and the uniqueness of the mixture of ingredients as well as the aroma.
I will let the pictures of our visit speak for itself. It looks and tastes good at the same time that you will crave for more Indonesian food.
I'm a big fan of Mee Goreng and so this was my personal choice and it did not disappoint. It had my tastebuds confused and excited at the same time. I can eat this any day.
Dessert in whatever form and way presented and prepared has always been my weakness and so I devoured myself with a small portion of everything. The Indonesian version of halo halo iis not too sweet so it is perfect for those who would like to watch their sugar intake. It has the right flavor and their cakes were also unique and compliments the food.

The restaurant is located in a busy street during workdays so we decided to visit one weekend. The place itself exudes of class and authenticity.
GARUDA according to google is a bird creature from Hindu mythology that has a mix of eagle and human features. He is the vehicle(vahana) of Vishnu and appears on God's banner. Garuda represents birth and heaven, and is the enemy of all snakes.
Wait till you taste the food.
First order of business....
refreshments and what other way to start this meal than an Indonesian Tea.

All of the food in the menu has it's own unique burst of flavor. Just make sure to ask which one's are spicy if you are not into spicy food.Especially if you wanna try their famous beef rendang, then you have to have a pitcher of milk or water ready. All of their dishes are the same thing that you can get in other Garuda restaurants in Indonesia. The owner is very particular with quality and that is definitely what will keep you coming back as your first meal will be the same as your second, third and 100th meal in this place.
Now you know what they say there's always room for dessert. We would not be called HUNGRY BYAHEROS for nothing.
After visiting Garuda. It got me thinking...Why travel to Indonesia when you can get the best foodie experience right at your doorstep? With chefs and ingredients specially flown from Indonesia, enjoy an authentic meal at Restoran Garuda! It's definitely a feast of flavors you just can't resist.
