CHINATOWN, Tres Marias Chronicles || PINAYAVENTURES

Since it's almost Chinese New Year I will be sharing with you our fun adventure that you can use ass a guide during your visit to Chinatown, Binondo with less than 500 to spend.

The original plan was to meet at 7am to go to PRC and Divisoria but ended up meeting at around past 8am. We rode a jeepney from Chowking Pembo to Guadalupe for 7 pesos and as we were stucked in traffic I saw the sign Guadalupe ferry and remembered from a blog i read that it can take us to Lucky Chinatown and so i told Jo and Cat about it and they agreed to take that alternate route as it would be a different experience. We arrived at the ferry station at 9am and the next trip was 10am.

We did'nt mind the 1 hour wait as we know we are in for a great experience. We decided to go to a nearby store to buy some snacks. When we went back to the ferry station we were already excited and little did we know that we were in for a great ride. All of us were first timers and so we were all thrilled and it's like a tour from the past. One that we can only read from history books during our elementary and high school years. Old buildings, bridges and we even passed by PRESIDENT DIGONGS place the MALACAƑANG PALACE. No pictures as it is not allowed and the coastguards were watching closely. The ride was approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and we paid 50 pesos. Upon arrival at ESCOLTA ferry station there was a shuttle that could take us to Divisoria but since we were still in awe we were the last to exit the ferry and the shuttle can only accomodate approximately 14-15 people. We decided to walk as we can already see the road leading to Manila Lucky Chinatown.

It was already past 11 and so we thought we can already have lunch since we are already in Binondo. We passed by Binondo Church and couple of shops/stores before having lunch at Wai Ying.

It was Jo and Cat's first time and they enjoyed the food.

We walked from Wai Ying to Recto in search for things on our list and after we walked to Quiapo Church and walked to the nearby stalls and bought a couple of things. We then arrived at Carriedo Station as we needed to already go home as Cat has a 10pm shift tonight. Rode the Lrt for 20 pesos and dropped off at Edsa station,  walked to Mrt taft and dropped off at Guadalupe Station for 14 pesos. From Guada station we walked and rode a jeepney bound to Pateros for 7 pesos. Overall, it was a great experience. It always is when I am with these girls. Thanks Cat and Jo!
